We're Engaged!

It's official! Dan and I are engaged! We are so excited, and he did such a beautiful job with everything... here's the story:

{Sunday, May 15} 

Dan asked me if I would like to go on a date the next night. I said yes, of course. He said, "Okay cool. Maybe dinner and a movie?" Sounded good to me!

{Monday, May 16} 

10:40 a.m. phone call from Dan:
"Hey babe, how are ya? Are you still planning on dinner tonight?"
"Yeah!"
"Great, do you want to go to Chili's? or maybe Applebee's? Nothing big."
"Sure, Applebee's sounds yummy."
"Okay I'll pick you up at 7."
"Love you!"

3:35 p.m. phone call from Dan:
"Hey would you rather go to Ninja?"
"OOOOOOOH YESSSSS!!!!"
"K Love you bye."

3:42 p.m. phone call from Dan:
"Should I make reservations for that?"
"Ha yeah, if you are planning on sitting hibachi."
"What?"

4:29 p.m. phone call from Dan:
"Hey Babe?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm gonna be dressed up tonight, ok?"
"Ok... I will dress up too."

I went to the store to buy press-on, {yes! press-on nails!} because I had a feeling my fingers might need to look extra fancy. My little sister put them on for me, {Thanks Cass} because she is a beauty QUEEN. I got all ready and Dan showed up right at 7. I could tell by his smile {that he could NOT hide} that he was super excited/nervous/mischievous. We ate a delicious meal of shrimp, steak, noodles, and my favorite Las Vegas Sushi Rolls, at a hibachi table with a super cute family called the Anderson's. After, Dan opened my car door for me and there on my seat was THE most beautiful cherry wood ring box. I was so happy! I turned around to hug him and he was on his knees with THE most beautiful ring and said,
"Brittney, will you marry me?" 

It was so simple and perfect, I'm am such a blessed girl! I must be Heavenly Father's favorite.. just kidding.

It was my fairy tale movie moment but there were, of course, a couple "outtakes."
1. Dan sent me a picture of the ring that day by accident! lucky for him my sister, SOMEHOW, {lucky, lucky Dan} had my phone and deleted the message, all without me knowing!
2. Dan left to "go to the restroom" during dinner. While he was gone I explained to the family we were dining with that he was probably going to propose to me that night! The Mom {sorry I don't remember her name, but the Dad's name is Chad.} said "HE'S GOING FOR THE RING!" We all started laughing.
3. Dan had the ring in his pocket during dinner and when we got up to leave I saw the circle imprint on the leather seat!!
4. When we got to the car, my arms were full of take out boxes which made for a very clumsy moment when I realized what was happening.

Even with our natural "quirky" ways, the night was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing, Thank you Dan!
